Shanghai Supper Club in celebration of Marylebone Food Festival

Hi, I'm Lillian, the mama/cook wearing the apron of Shanghai Supper Club. I started this private dining concept in 2014 to share the food my late grandmother used to cook at home and some typical dianxin, or small eats, you would find on the streets of Shanghai. We host dinners every 6 to 8 weeks and the menu is different for every dinner as Shanghainese food is very seasonal and uses many seasonal ingredients. We try to follow that philosophy in our cooking with dishes that reflect what we would eat at a particular time of the year or for special festivals like the Chinese New Year.

Food is served family-style at a communal table to be shared among the guests, and there are plenty of it. You can come alone or bring a group to make up your own table. It will be like attending a dinner party at a friend’s house, so expect a relaxed atmosphere and be prepared to lend a hand to pass the food around the table. There is a cash bar on site so drinks can be purchased on the night. Please note this is not a BYO event.
